Berlin, Germany

This course will be taught in the thrilling city of Berlin, focusing on the making of Europe from a 20th century perspective. You will not only explore the background and history of the World Wars and the era leading up to it, but you will also be introduced to the Interbellum, the Cold War, and the relations of Europe with Russia and the USA. Several excursions will be organised in which you will visit some of the most iconic German landmarks.

Many iconic developments occurred over the course of the 20th century: 2 World Wars were fought, the birth of the United Nations and the fall of communism just to name a few. The city of Berlin is the logical course location for this programme, being such a crucial city in Europe’s history in the 20th century.
